Chief, Division of Sports Wagering
Carrie Torrisi serves as the Sports Wagering Division Chief at the Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC), where she leads the Commission’s newest division responsible for comprehensive oversight of sports wagering operations across Massachusetts. In her role, Torrisi coordinates with multiple divisions within the MGC, including Research & Responsible Gaming, IT, Legal, and the IEB.
Torrisi’s tenure at the MGC began with the Legal department in 2015, first as Associate General Counsel before advancing to Deputy General Counsel. During this period, she played a key role in launching casino gaming and sports wagering in the Commonwealth, serving as the Legal department’s primary contact for the Sports Wagering Division. Her responsibilities included drafting comprehensive regulations for sports wagering, casino gaming, and horse racing while managing the complete promulgation process.
Torrisi began her legal career as an attorney for the Massachusetts Department of Public Safety, where she provided guidance on regulatory requirements and managed the department’s public records program. Torrisi was also involved in policy development through her efforts in collaborating with members of the department to formulate positions and draft amendments related to proposed legislation.
Torrisi is a graduate of Colby College and holds a law degree from Suffolk University Law School.
