The Massachusetts Gaming Commission issues first Gaming School Certification to Bristol Community College

Today the Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) is pleased to announce that it has issued the state’s first Gaming School Certification to Bristol Community College (BCC). BCC will soon launch a Casino Management program to prepare students for employment at a casino as part of an overall hospitality program that can prepare students for a variety of positions in a gaming establishment.

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission marks one year anniversary of PlayMyWay program

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) marks the one year anniversary of the official implementation of “PlayMyWay”, a responsible gaming initiative that provides casino patrons with a voluntary option to budget and track their play. Launched on June 9, 2016 at Plainridge Park Casino (PPC), the PlayMyWay program is an innovative budgeting tool designed to allow customers the ability to monitor the amount of money they spend on electronic gaming machines, and to support their decision to continue or stop play. As of June 12, 2017, a total of 12,670 players have enrolled in the PlayMyWay program. This number represents more than 10% of eligible players. There are currently 10, 857 players actively enrolled in the program, with total un-enrollment rate around 16%.

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission releases May 2017 gross gaming revenue for Plainridge Park Casino

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) reported today that the month of May 2017 at Plainridge Park Casino generated $14,418,101.33 in Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR). The category 2 slots-parlor is taxed on 49% of gross gaming revenue, of that total taxed amount 82% is paid to Local Aid and 18% goes to the Race Horse Development Fund. To date, the state has collected $152,089,074.30 in total state taxes and race horse assessments from Plainridge Park Casino since its June 24, 2015 opening.
