Meeting Notification: MGC to hold open public meeting on 2/18 at 10:00am, TOPICS: Diversity, Region C, Wynn Permitting Update and Appeal, Draft Regulations and Horse Racing

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) will hold its 179th open public meeting on February 18, 2016. The Commission will begin the meeting with an update from the Access and Opportunity Committee and a discussion on the diversity goal loan program. Ombudsman John Ziemba will brief the Commission on the latest Region C (Southeastern Massachusetts) schedule. Ombudsman Ziemba will also update commissioners regarding Wynn permitting and the permitting appeal.

#MGC200! The Massachusetts Gaming Commission marks milestone 200th public meeting

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission announces that on September 22, 2016, it will conduct its 200th open public meeting. The Commission is pleased to mark this significant milestone as part of the ongoing implementation and regulation of the state’s developing expanded gaming industry. MGC’s 200th meeting will take place on September 22, 2016 at 10:00am at 101 Federal Street 12th floor in Boston.

As of MGC’s 199th meeting, the Commission has generated 38,186 pages of transcripts, 199 live streams, 588 hours of video, and has traveled the Commonwealth hosting public meetings and hearings in locations including: Boston, Springfield, West Springfield, Everett, Revere, Wrentham, Raynham, Easton, Plainville, Leominster, Lancaster, Brockton, Holbrook, Mashpee, Palmer, Worcester, Framingham and Lynn. The Commission also maintains a robust online Meeting Archive that provides timely meeting minutes, transcripts, videos and commissioners packets from every public meeting.

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission Responds to State Auditor Report

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) is pleased to provide a detailed response to findings recently issued by the Office of the State Auditor Suzanne Bump. In accordance with Chapter 11, Section 12 of Massachusetts General Law, the Office of the State Auditor (OSA) conducted a performance audit of the MGC to ensure compliance with oversight responsibilities required by law. The MGC worked closely with state auditors for 9 months to facilitate timely and open access to all requested records and information regarding revenue, internal controls and financial data.

Banking on Shared Values: MGC Selects Eastern Bank as Its Primary Financial Institution in Recognition of a Shared Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion

Today the Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) is pleased to announce that it has selected Eastern Bank as its primary financial institution in support of the bank’s demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion. MGC will transition its depository banking operations to Eastern Bank; this includes daily taxes on Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR), all casino licensing fees, all horse racing fees associated with wagers on races, and annual assessments on casino licensees.
