A message from the MGC Office of Research and Responsible Gaming
Representatives of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission were pleased to speak at the 2018 Massachusetts Conference on Gambling Problems, presented by the Massachusetts Council on Compulsive Gambling. The conference brings together expert dialogue regarding the present and future environment of gambling disorder in the Commonwealth through a spectrum of public health approaches. Attendees included both local and national treatment providers, persons in recovery, regulators and academic researchers. MGC Chairman Stephen Crosby and Department of Public Health Associate Commissioner Lindsey Tucker kicked off the conference by providing an overview of the Public Health Trust Fund for which they both serve as Co-Chair. Dr. Jeff Marotta of Problem Gambling Solutions, Inc., MGC Director of Research and Responsible Gaming Mark Vander Linden and MGC Commissioner Enrique Zuniga spoke about the collaborative approach which was taken to update the Responsible Gaming Framework, Version 2.0. Currently available for public comment, the session further highlighted and the changes which were made to the Framework and welcomed the audience to submit feedback.
