The MGC to hold public meeting on December 6, 2018

Topics include Research Agenda Update, 2017 Racing Annual Report, and  Community Mitigation Fund Application Guidelines

WHO:                   Members of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission including Interim Chair Gayle Cameron, Commissioner Eileen O’Brien, Commissioner Bruce Stebbins and Commissioner Enrique Zuniga 

WHAT:                The Massachusetts Gaming Commission will hold its 256th open public meeting on Thursday, December 6, 2018.

The public meeting will begin with a general administrative update from Executive Director Ed Bedrosian.

The commission will receive a report from the UMass Amherst, Social and Economic Impacts of Gambling in Massachusetts (SEIGMA) team. The SEIGMA researchers will officially release the Social and Economic Impacts of Expanded Gambling in Massachusetts: 2018 report, which constitutes the most in-depth and comprehensive investigation of the impacts of introducing casino gambling ever undertaken.

Dr. Alex Lightbown, director of the Racing Division, will present the commission with its 2017 Annual Report.

The Legal Division will request commission votes regarding an amendment to the template for non-disclosure agreements and for the adoption of an emergency regulation governing gaming equipment.

The commission is also expected to vote on the application guidelines for the 2019 Community Mitigation Fund.

Lastly, the commission will go into Executive Session pursuant to M.G.L. chapter 30A section 21 (a)(3) for the purpose of discussing strategy for Wynn-related litigation.
