On May 14, 2015, the Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) voted 4-0 in a public meeting to approve the gaming floor plan for Plainridge Park Casino. MGC regulations require Plainridge Park Casino to submit a comprehensive floor plan to ensure the security and integrity of the gaming establishment.
“The Commission is pleased to take this important step toward the public opening of the state’s first gaming facility,” said Chairman Steve Crosby. “Built by close to 1,000 construction workers, the approved gaming floor now represents a workplace for more than 500 jobs, $4.75 million in vendor contracts for Massachusetts businesses, and an anticipated $98 million in annual revenue for the Commonwealth.”
MGC’s regulation 205 CMR 151.02 requires Commission approval of the floor plan of the gaming area, gaming establishment simulcast facility and restricted areas. Each floor plan required by 205 CMR 151.02(2) shall accurately depict the entire layout, including equipment positioning, in the gaming area and support areas, shall be drawn to at least one-eighth inch scale (1/8 inch = one foot), shall have received any necessary approvals, and shall depict, the location of the areas that include security, gaming equipment, surveillance and payouts. In addition, a design review is completed to ensure that the interior design approach as reflected in the current floor plans is consistent with plans submitted to the Commission during the License Application process.
