The International Association of Gaming Regulators has selected Boston, Massachusetts as the host location for its Annual Conference and Members Business Meeting in 2020.
The Massachusetts Gaming Commission has been a member of the association for seven years. The IAGR annual conference is a major event for gaming regulators like us and industry stakeholders. We are thrilled that the IAGR chose Massachusetts to host such an important week in the industry’s calendar.
The conference rotates through five regions of the world represented by the association’s diverse membership, with this year’s conference being held in Jamaica this fall.
Last year’s conference in Copenhagen hosted more than 200 delegates from 47 different gaming jurisdictions and 41 countries from every continent, and now the Commonwealth will have the opportunity to bring that international audience here in 2020.
The event provides a forum for regulators from around the world to exchange ideas and discuss policy issues, along with other international gaming industry representatives. The MGC embraces the opportunity to share experiences with our global counterparts. Collaboration is critical to advancing modern strategies and identifying the most promising policies and practices. We are proud of the Commonwealth’s strong gaming law and hope others benefit from its prudence.
We look forward to welcoming the association next year and showcasing to our fellow gaming regulators from around the world what Massachusetts has to offer.
