Public Meeting Notification: MGC to hold public meeting on 12/17, TOPICS: Region C, Research and Responsible Gaming, Community Mitigation and Regulations

WHO:             Members of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission including   Chairman Steve Crosby, Commissioner Gayle Cameron, Commissioner Lloyd Macdonald, Commissioner Bruce Stebbins and Commissioner Enrique Zuniga

WHAT:              The Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) will hold its 173rd open public meeting on Thursday, December 17th. The Commission is expected to begin the meeting with a status discussion about Region C and the Tribal Compact. Chairman Crosby will also provide a brief update on the status of the Daily Fantasy Sports white paper.

MGC’s Research and Responsible Gaming Director Mark Vander Linden will be joined by several guests to present to the Commission on a variety of topics including research-related survey results and an update on the GameSense program. MGC’s legal staff will also introduce a discussion about the amendment of voluntary self-exclusion regulations.

Ombudsman John Ziemba will present on several topics that will require the Commission to vote including community mitigation reserve requests, MGM Section 61 decision and the 2016 community mitigation reserve fund guidelines. Ombudsman Ziemba will also update commissioners regarding the ongoing long-term planning process for Sullivan Square.

Lastly, the Commission is expected to vote on a number of regulations pertaining to the Small Business Impact Statement.
