MGC to Host Two Virtual Information Workshops Related to 2021 Community Mitigation Fund Applications

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission will be hosting two virtual informational workshops to assist communities and other governmental entities in the development of their 2021 Community Mitigation Fund applications.

  1. The first workshop will be held on January 6, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. and will cover the Specific Impact, Transportation Planning, Transportation Construction and Community Planning applications.
  2. The second workshop will be held on January 8, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. and will cover the Workforce Development Applications.

The purpose of these virtual meetings is to provide communities with an update on changes to the Community Mitigation Fund for 2021; insights into how other communities have used their funds; a discussion of application requirements; and an opportunity to ask any questions you may have regarding the use of Community Mitigation Grant funds.

Additionally, these meetings will discuss some best practices that communities have used in the past to develop the most competitive applications.

Since 2015, the MGC has issued approximately $23 million in funding through the Community Mitigation Fund to advance needs in transportation, community planning, workforce development and public safety for municipalities and government entities located in the vicinity of the casinos.
