MGC Program Manager and Accomplished Quilt-Maker Mary Thurlow Uses Sewing Expertise to Make Face Masks

MGC’s Mary Thurlow has the difficult job of juggling the many responsibilities and deadlines associated with the work of the Office of the Ombudsman. In her role as a program manager and paralegal, Mary’s duties include chronic multi-tasking and an impressive ability to effortlessly field a high volume of constituent requests and communications.

Many of MGC’s constituents are familiar with Mary’s tireless work on the Community Mitigation Fund. In fact, Mary plays a critical role in the implementation of the mitigation grant program and has facilitated more than $16 million in awards to local municipalities, supporting communities in their efforts to address needs in transportation, tourism, workforce development and public safety.

What many may not know about Mary – until now – is that she is also a highly talented and accomplished quilter. During this challenging time, Mary is lending her talent and expertise to sewing face masks for the community. She has been sewing, alongside her family, protective face coverings for adults and children. Mary is well-known for her ability to always rise to a challenge. It comes as no surprise that she continues to find important and meaningful ways to contribute to the greater good in a time of great need.

The MGC extends its thanks to Mary and the Thurlow family for their efforts!
