WHO: Members of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission including Chair Cathy Judd-Stein and Commissioners Gayle Cameron, Eileen O’Brien, Bruce Stebbins, and Enrique Zuniga
WHAT: The Massachusetts Gaming Commission will hold public meeting #278 on Thursday, September 26, 2019.
The meeting will begin with an approval of minutes, followed by an administrative update from Executive Director Ed Bedrosian.
It is anticipated that the Commission will then vote on a Request for Amendment to MGM Springfield’s Gaming Beverage License.
Representatives from MGM Springfield will provide a presentation to the Commission about the casino’s Quarterly Report. The presentation will be followed by an update from the City of Springfield.
Director of Research and Responsible Gaming Mark Vander Linden, alongside SEIGMA/UMass Donahue Institute representatives, will present Research Agenda updates, including an assessment on the early impacts of MGM Springfield on real estate conditions in the host and surrounding communities, as well as findings on the economic impacts of MGM Springfield’s construction.
Director of Workforce, Supplier and Diversity Development Jill Griffin will introduce an MGM Springfield Construction Vendor Spotlight. The presentation will be followed by an update on the upcoming Summit on Diversity in Construction.
Ombudsman John Ziemba will then review the 2020 Community Mitigation Fund Policy Questions.
Commissioner O’Brien, Commissioner Zuniga and Deputy General Counsel Todd Grossman will lead a discussion regarding Plainridge Park Casino’s License Renewal Process.
