Meeting Notification: MGC to hold public meeting on September 24; Conference Call Available

WHO:                   Members of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission including Chair Cathy Judd-Stein and Commissioners Gayle Cameron, Eileen O’Brien, Bruce Stebbins, and Enrique Zuniga 

WHAT:                The Massachusetts Gaming Commission will hold public meeting #320 on Thursday, September 24, 2020.

After an approval of minutes, Interim Executive Director Karen Wells will provide an administrative update on the following:

  • Casino Updates
  • Revenue Numbers
  • License Status for Casino Re-hires

Construction Project Oversight Manager Joe Delaney will introduce representatives from Plainridge Park Casino, MGM Springfield and Encore Boston Harbor for the presentations of their respective first-quarter and second-quarter reports.

Delaney will also lead a discussion on the template for licensee quarterly reports, and will also ask that the Commission vote to re-affirm members of the Local Community Mitigation Advisory Committee.

Chief Financial and Accounting Officer Derek Lennon, alongside Revenue Manager Douglas O’Donnell and Commissioner Zuniga, will report on the end of Fiscal Year 2020.

Director of Research and Responsible Gaming Mark Vander Linden, alongside Research Consultant Dr. Thomas Land, will provide an update on the Section 97 Data Report.

Chair Judd-Stein will lead a discussion regarding the MGC’s Equity and Inclusion Working Group, which will include a presentation and review of a Statement of Purpose. A vote on this matter is anticipated.

Chair Judd-Stein and Executive Director Wells will also request that the Commission vote on an Interim Director of the Investigations and Enforcement Bureau.
