Meeting Notification: MGC to hold public meeting on October 24, 2019

WHO:                    Members of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission including Chair Cathy Judd-Stein and Commissioners Gayle Cameron, Eileen O’Brien, Bruce Stebbins, and Enrique Zuniga 

WHAT:                  The Massachusetts Gaming Commission will hold public meeting #280 on Thursday, October 24, 2019.

After an approval of minutes, Director of Research and Responsible Gaming Mark Vander Linden, Carolyn Wong from the University of Massachusetts Boston, and Giles Li from the Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Association will present on the following:

  • Gambling Behavior, Risk Factors for Problem Gambling and Public Health Recommendations: A Pilot Study in Boston’s Chinatown

The presentation will be followed by an administrative update from Executive Director Ed Bedrosian.

Ombudsman John Ziemba will review the 2020 Draft Community Mitigation Fund Guidelines, and will then ask the Commission to vote on Local Community Mitigation Fund Advisory Committee and Sub-Committee Appointments.

The Commission will then receive a follow-up from Executive Director Bedrosian about the ongoing discussion regarding Region C.

General Counsel Catherine Blue will request that the Commission vote on the following:

  • Final Draft Version of 205 CMR 6.35: Pick (n) Pools; and Amended Small Business Impact Statement – VOTE to Complete the Promulgation Process

Lastly, the Commission will enter Executive Session pursuant to M.G.L. Chapter 30A  Section 21 (a)(3) to discuss strategies related to collective bargaining and ongoing Region A litigation.
