Meeting Notification: MGC to hold public meeting on October 21, 2021; Conference Call Available

WHO:                    Members of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission including Chair Cathy Judd-Stein and Commissioners Gayle Cameron, Brad Hill, Eileen O’Brien

WHAT:                  The Massachusetts Gaming Commission will hold public meeting #358 on Thursday, October 21, 2021.

After the meeting is called to order, Executive Director Karen Wells will provide an administrative update, which will discuss the following:

  • On-site Casino Updates
  • Internal Reopening Plan Update
  • Equity and Inclusion Update

Director Wells, General Counsel Todd Grossman, and Chief Financial and Accounting Officer Derek Lennon will ask that the Commission vote on a Hiring Process Policy Development.

Director of Research and Responsible Gaming Mark Vander Linden and Research Manager Marie-Claire Flores-Pajot will introduce members of the UMass Donahue Institute’s Economic & Public Policy Research Group for the presentation of a Commercial Real Estate Report.

The Massachusetts Council on Gaming and Health will then lead a presentation surrounding the quarterly report for GameSense.

Director of Racing Dr. Alex Lightbown will give an update related to quarterly local aid. A vote on this matter is anticipated.

General Counsel Grossman, alongside Director of Investigations and Enforcement Bureau Loretta Lillios and Associate General Counsel Carrie Torrisi, will ask that the Commission vote on the following:

  • Revisions to 205 CMR 134.01: Key Gaming Employee Licensees; 205 CMR 134.02: Gaming Employee Licensees; 205 CMR 134.03: Gaming Service Employees – and Small Business Impact Statement, for approval to begin the promulgation process – VOTE

Community Affairs Division Chief Joe Delaney and Senior Program Manager Mary Thurlow will lead a discussion on the 2022 Community Mitigation Fund Guidelines.
