Meeting Notification: MGC to hold public meeting on November 4, 2021; Conference Call Available

WHO:                    Members of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission including Chair Cathy Judd-Stein and Commissioners Gayle Cameron, Brad Hill, Eileen O’Brien

WHAT:                  The Massachusetts Gaming Commission will hold public meeting #359 on Thursday, November 4, 2021.

After the meeting is called to order, Executive Director Karen Wells will provide an administrative update, which will discuss the following:

  • On-site Casino Updates
  • Internal Reopening Plan Update

Director of Racing Dr. Alex Lightbown will request that the Commission vote on rescheduled racing dates for Plainridge Park Casino.

Community Affairs Division Chief Joe Delaney will introduce representatives from Encore Boston Harbor for the presentation of the licensee’s quarterly report.

Chief Delaney will then ask that the Commission vote on Community Mitigation Fund Reserve Applications related to the Towns of Agawam and Foxborough.

Director of Research and Responsible Gaming Mark Vander Linden and Research Manager Marie-Claire Flores-Pajot will introduce SEIGMA Principal Investigator and UMass Amherst professor Dr. Rachel Volberg, who will present on a report surrounding Gambling Harms and the Prevention Paradox in Massachusetts.

Members of the MGC’s Finance Division will request a Commission vote on the MGC’s First Quarter Budget.

The Commission will then recognize former MGC Commissioner Enrique Zuniga.
