Meeting Notification: MGC to hold public meeting on November 2, 2023; Conference Call Available

WHO:                     Members of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission including Chair Cathy Judd-Stein and Commissioners Brad Hill, Jordan Maynard, Eileen O’Brien, and Nakisha Skinner

WHAT:                The Massachusetts Gaming Commission will hold public meeting #485 on Thursday, November 2, 2023.

After the meeting is called to order, the Commission will review meeting minutes from previously held Commission meetings on February 23, 2023 and February 27, 2023.

Then, Interim Executive Director Todd Grossman will lead an administrative update, which is expected to cover the Massachusetts Sire Stakes. Commissioner Brad Hill is then expected to present a legislative update.

The Legal Division will then head the ensuing portion of the meeting, where they will cover 205 CMR 152: Individuals Excluded from Gaming and Sports Wagering.

Sports Wagering will then present updates to house rules for Fanatics Betting & Gaming and Penn Sports Interactive. Following that, the Finance Division will provide an update regarding the FY24 budget.

The Racing Division is then expected to lead a discussion on Race Horse Development Fund benefits for drivers and jockeys in accordance with G.L. c. 23K,  § 60(c)(iii).

Research and Responsible Gaming will then provide a summary of the FY23 research agenda. That will be followed by the Community Affairs Division, who will cover MGM Springfield Quarterly Reports for Q2 and Q3, as well as a continued discussion on modifications to the Community Mitigation Fund and a report on Community Mitigation Fund awards to region B and the City of Springfield.

The Executive Director Screening Committee will provide an update on the process to the rest of the Commission before the IEB Director Screening Committee leads a review of the IEB Director job description and an update on their process.

Commissioner Updates, which will cover an independent monitor report schedule update, are expected to round out the meeting.

There is also time allotted near the end of the meeting for any other business that the Chair did not reasonably anticipate at the time of posting.

The Commission reserves the right to vote on these or other matters during the meeting.
