Meeting Notification: MGC to hold public meeting on May 16, 2023; Conference Call Available

WHO:                     Members of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission including Chair Cathy Judd-Stein and Commissioners Brad Hill, Jordan Maynard, Eileen O’Brien, and Nakisha Skinner

WHAT:                The Massachusetts Gaming Commission will hold public meeting #453 on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.

After the meeting is called to order, the Commission will vote on the approval of meeting minutes from previous Commission meetings held on November 29, 2022, and December 1, 2022. Following that, Executive Director Karen Wells will lead an Administrative Update.

The Community Affairs Division will then follow, where they are expected to cover Quarterly Reports from Encore Boston Harbor and Plainridge Park Casino, as well as a discussion on the Encore Boston Harbor East of Broadway Expansion.

The Horse Racing Division will lead the following portion of the meeting, covering a review of delegation of authority memorandum.

A legislative update is set to follow before the Sports Wagering Division begins their portion of the meeting, which is expected to cover updates to House Rules for Betfair Interactive (FanDuel) and Betr, Holdings Inc., as well as an approval of certificate of operations for FBG Enterprises Opco, LLC.

The Finance Division is then slated to provide a 3rd Quarter Budget Update ahead of the Legal Division’s section, which will cover the following regulations:

  • 205 CMR 222: Capital Investment and Monitoring of Project Construction
  • 205 CMR 239: Continuing Disclosure and Reporting Obligations of Sports Wagering Licensees
  • 205 CMR 256: Sports Wagering Advertising

The Commission will then discuss the MGC Office Lease Update ahead of an anticipated Executive Session regarding the matter.

There is time allotted near the end of the meeting for any other business that the Chair did not reasonably anticipate at the time of posting.

The Commission reserves the right to vote on these or other matters during the meeting.
