Meeting Notification: MGC to hold public meeting on March 31, 2022; Conference Call Available

WHO:                       Members of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission including Chair Cathy Judd-Stein and Commissioners Gayle Cameron, Brad Hill, Eileen O’Brien, and Nakisha Skinner

WHAT:                    The Massachusetts Gaming Commission will hold public meeting #375 on Thursday, March 31 2022.

After the meeting is called to order, the commissioners and the Chair will hold separate votes on approving meeting minutes for four Commission meetings previously held on May 26, 2021; July 15, 2021; July 29, 2021; and August 26, 2021. The Commission will also discuss meeting minutes from August 19, 2021, but no vote will be held.

Following those votes, Executive Director Karen Wells will lead an Administrative Update that will cover On-Site Casino Updates, a Pacesetters Update, Organization Chart and Major Policymaking Position Designation – which will require a vote – as well as a discussion on office leasing, the PlayMyWay Launch at MGM Springfield, and the recognition of Scott Helwig’s Departure.

Crystal Howard, the Chief Administrative Officer to the Chair and Special Projects Manager will lead the following segment, which will be a Business Technical Assistance Grantee Presentation.

Dr. Alex Lightbown, Director of Racing for the MGC, will head the Racing Division’s portion of the meeting, which will cover Plainridge Park Racecourse’s Request for Approval of Racing Officials and Key Operating Personnel and Plainridge Park Racecourse’s Request for Waiver of 205 CMR 3.12(6) Qualifying Race Requirement. Votes are anticipated after both topics. The Racing Division portion of the meeting will close with discussion on the Racing Annual Report.

Community Affairs Chief Joe Delaney will lead the next portion of the open meeting, where the Commission will discuss the Ludlow Reserve Application as well as the Community Mitigation Fund Workforce Development Grants; both conversations are expected to precede votes by the Commission.

Commissioner Updates are set to follow, where the Commission will be given an Annual Report Update as well as say Farewell to Commissioner Gayle Cameron, who will participate in her final meeting as a commissioner.

There is time allowed at the end of the meeting for any other business that the Chair did not reasonably anticipate at the time of posting.

Following the conclusion of the open meeting, the Commission anticipates meeting in Executive session to review the status of, and discuss strategy with respect to City of Revere, and Mohegan Sun Massachusetts, LLC v. Massachusetts Gaming Commission, as well as for FBT Everett Realty, LLC v. MGC v. Wynn MA, LLC. The Commission will also review and approve draft minutes of previously held executive sessions.

The public session of the Commission meeting will not reconvene at the conclusion of the Executive Session.
