Meeting Notification: MGC to hold public meeting on March 3, 2022; Conference Call Available

WHO:                       Members of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission including Chair Cathy Judd-Stein and Commissioners Gayle Cameron, Brad Hill, and Eileen O’Brien

WHAT:                    The Massachusetts Gaming Commission will hold public meeting #372 on Thursday, March 3, 2022.

After the meeting is called to order, the commissioners and the Chair will hold separate votes on approving meeting minutes for five Commission meetings previously held on June 3, 2021; June 14, 2021; June 24, 2021; August 4, 2021; and September 9, 2021.

Following those votes, Executive Director Karen Wells will lead an Administrative Update that will cover On-Site Casino Updates from Assistant Director Bruce Band, as well as COVID-19 Updates, an Internal Audit and Compliance Working Group Update, and the Encore Boston Harbor Scheduled Event Discussion, which will also be led by Assistant Director Band along with Community Affairs Chief Joe Delaney and General Counsel Todd Grossman. A vote is anticipated following the Encore Boston Harbor Scheduled Event Discussion.

The Commission’s Research and Responsible Gaming Team, led by Director Mark Vander Linden, will then speak on Problem Gambling Awareness Month – which officially kicked off at the start of March – and will provide a quarterly report on GameSense in conjunction with representatives from the MA Council on Gaming and Health.

The Investigations and Enforcement Bureau is set to follow, where Director Loretta Lillios and Chief Enforcement Counsel Heather Hall will lead a discussion on the VICI-MGP REIT Transaction and Request for Trust Approval in advance of an expected vote on the matter.

Mr. Grossman will then head the Legal Division’s portion of the public meeting, which will cover Key Maintenance and Inventory, along with the Uniform Standards of Rules of the Games. Votes are likely following both topics.

Research and Responsible Gaming Director Vander Linden will then discuss the launch of Play My Way at MGM Springfield before Chief Administrative Officer Crystal Howard and Commissioner Hill provide a Legislative Update to the Commission.

Community Affairs Chief Delaney will lead the likely final public portion of the open meeting, where the Commission will hear about MGM Springfield’s Quarterly Report ahead of an anticipated Executive Session. There, the Commission anticipates reviewing the proposed multi-year capital expenditure plan and any corresponding materials submitted relative to MGM Springfield.

The public session of the Commission meeting will not reconvene at the conclusion of the Executive Session.
