Meeting Notification: MGC to hold public meeting on March 27, 2025; Conference Call Available

Once the meeting is called to order, the Commission will review meeting minutes from several past open meetings on January 17, 2023, October 10, 2024, November 7, 2024, and February 24, 2025. Executive Director Dean Serpa will then deliver an administrative update.

The Commission then expects the meeting to enter an executive session, during which the Legal Division will provide litigation updates on FBT Everett Realty, LLC v. Massachusetts Gaming Commission and Massachusetts Gaming Commission v. Landmark American Insurance Company.

Once the meeting is returned to the public, the Investigations and Enforcement Bureau (IEB) will brief Commissioners on several sports wagering noncompliance matters. Commissioners will also hear requests from multiple Temporary Category 3 Sports Wagering Operators for temporary licenses.

Following the IEB, Commissioners will hear an update on employment and vendor diversity. The Racing Division will then provide a request from the Plainridge Park Racecourse for approval of racing officials and key operating personnel.

The Sports Wagering Division is then expected to cover the updates to the house rules of multiple operators: Bally’s, BetMGM, Encore Boston Harbor, Fanatics, FanDuel, and MGM Springfield. Commissioners also expect to hear a request for an Extension of Temporary Waiver from the identity authentication questions requirement in 205 CMR 248.04(4) for Bally’s and BetMGM.

The Legal Division will follow with a discussion of several regulations and amendments. They will also explain the update to the rules of the table games Spanish 21 and Pontoon 21.

Commissioner Updates are expected to follow, rounding out the meeting.

There is time reserved at the end of the meeting for any other business the Chair did not reasonably anticipate at the time of posting.
