Meeting Notification: MGC to hold public meeting on July 2; Conference Call Available

WHO:                   Members of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission including Chair Cathy Judd-Stein and Commissioners Gayle Cameron, Eileen O’Brien, Bruce Stebbins, and Enrique Zuniga 

WHAT:                The Massachusetts Gaming Commission will hold public meeting #311 on Thursday, July 2, 2020.

During an administrative update from Interim Executive Director Karen Wells, Director of Racing Dr. Alex Lightbown will provide an update on the state of simulcasting and advance deposit wagering (ADW). The administrative update will also include information on internal control variances.

Director Lightbown will then ask that the Commission vote on the following:

  • Approval of Licensees’ (Plainridge Park, Suffolk Downs, Raynham Park) Pandemic-Related Minimum Standards for Reopening of Horse Racing and Simulcasting Operations – VOTES
  • Massachusetts Thoroughbred Breeders Association Request to Race outside of MA – VOTE

Interim General Counsel Todd Grossman will request a vote on the following:

  • Review of Draft of 205 CMR 134.03: Gaming Service Employees, Amendments to Allow Employees of Gaming Licensees’ Sister Properties to Work On Site During Reopening Phase Without Licensure Or Registration Under Certain Conditions; and Small Business Impact Statement – VOTE to Adopt by Emergency and Commence the Promulgation Process

Chief Finance and Accounting Officer Derek Lennon, alongside members from the MGC’s Finance Division and Commissioner Zuniga, will present on the MGC’s Budget for Fiscal Year 2021. A vote on this matter is anticipated.
