Meeting Notification: MGC to hold public meeting on January 20, 2023; Conference Call Available

WHO:                     Members of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission including Chair Cathy Judd-Stein and Commissioners Brad Hill, Jordan Maynard, Eileen O’Brien, and Nakisha Skinner

WHAT:                    The Massachusetts Gaming Commission will hold public meeting #425 on Friday, January 20, 2023.

After the meeting is called to order, Executive Director Karen Wells will lead an Administrative Update covering the Determination of the Sports Wagering Category 1 Launch Time on Jan. 31.

The Legal Division will then discuss Sports Wagering Regulations, which is expected to cover the following regulations:

  • 205 CMR 256.00: Sports Wagering Advertising
  • 205 CMR 239.00: Continuing Disclosure and Reporting Obligations of Sports Wagering Licensees
  • 205 CMR 241.00: Surveillance and Monitoring
  • 205 CMR 255.00: Play Management
  • 205 CMR 254.00: Temporary Prohibition from Sports Wagering
  • 205 CMR 213.00: Withdrawal of an Application

The Executive Director is then expected to lead the following portion of the meeting, which is expected to cover Sports Wagering Implementation. During that discussion, the Commission will continue its Review and Approval of the Sports Wagering Events Catalog, and will discuss floor plan approvals.

Commissioner Updates are then set to round out the meeting.

There is time allowed at the end of the meeting for any other business that the Chair did not reasonably anticipate at the time of posting. The Commission reserves the right to vote on these matters during this or future meetings.
