Meeting Notification: MGC to hold public meeting on February 6, 2025; Conference Call Available

WHO:                    Members of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, including Chair Jordan Maynard and Commissioners Paul Brodeur, Brad Hill, Eileen O’Brien, and Nakisha Skinner

WHAT:                The Massachusetts Gaming Commission will hold public meeting #546 on Thursday, February 6, 2025.

Once the meeting is called to order, the Commission will review meeting minutes from several past open meetings on June 20, 2023, August 30, 2023, June 17, 2024, November 21, 2024, December 5, 2024, and January 9, 2025. Commissioners will then hear an administrative update from Executive Director Dean Serpa, which includes an update on the Commission’s collaborative work with the Department of Public Health.

Commissioner Brad Hill will provide a legislative update and lead a discussion on the possible adoption of Super Bowl prop wagers. The Commission will then hear a request from Plainridge Park Casino for capital improvement fund reimbursement for paddock renovations.

The Sports Wagering division will present to the Commission a request for a temporary waiver from the identity authentication questions requirement in 205 CMR 248.04(4) for Penn Sports Interactive (PSI), BetMGM, DraftKings, and Bally Bet.

Commissioners will then hear from the Legal division regarding a discussion of 205 CMR 238.12: Additional Uniform Standards of Accounting Procedures and Internal Controls for Sports Wagering. Legal will also present a summary of 2024 Administrative Appeals. Next, the IEB will present several briefings on non-compliance matters.

Commissioner Updates are expected to follow, rounding out the meeting.
