Meeting Notification: MGC to hold public meeting on February 23, 2023; Conference Call Available

WHO:                     Members of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission including Chair Cathy Judd-Stein and Commissioners Brad Hill, Jordan Maynard, Eileen O’Brien, and Nakisha Skinner

WHAT:                    The Massachusetts Gaming Commission will hold public meeting #436 on Thursday, February 23, 2023.

After the meeting is called to order, the Commission will vote on meeting minutes from a previously held MGC meeting held on October 13, 2022.

Following that, Executive Director Karen Wells will lead an Administrative Update.

The Racing Division is then set to discuss multiple topics with the Commissioners, including: 2021 Plainridge Racecourse unpaid winnings, 2021 Suffolk Downs unpaid winnings, 2021 Wonderland Park unpaid winnings, 2021 Raynham Park unpaid winnings, authorization for CFAO to pay out funds once approved by the Commission, and quarterly local aid payments.

The Sports Wagering Division is then set to follow, where they will cover the finalization of the temporary licensing process for Category 3 operators, and the scheduling of the Massasoit Grayhound Association (Raynham Park) Category 2 application review.

Investigations and Enforcement Bureau will lead the next portion of the meeting. They are set to hold a marketing affiliates discussion, along with conversations regarding 205 CMR 234: Sports Wagering Vendors, and a non-compliance issue surrounding the events catalog.

The Licensing Division will then cover MGM’s SER exemption request before the Research and Responsible Gaming team leads a discussion on the GameSense quarterly update.

Commissioner Updates are set to follow, rounding out the meeting.

There is time allowed at the end of the meeting for any other business that the Chair did not reasonably anticipate at the time of posting. The Commission reserves the right to vote on these or other matters during the meeting.
