Meeting Notification: MGC to hold public meeting on December 5, 2024; Conference Call Available

WHO: Members of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, including Chair Jordan Maynard and Commissioners Paul Brodeur, Brad Hill, Eileen O’Brien, and Nakisha Skinner
WHAT: The Massachusetts Gaming Commission will hold public meeting #541 on Thursday, December 5, 2024.
Once the meeting is called to order, the Commission will consider meeting minutes from a series of Commission meetings on January 11, 2023, January 12, 2023, and August 1, 2023. Commissioner Brad Hill will follow with a legislative update.
The Commission will then review the Investigation and Enforcement Bureau’s recommendation of the assessment of a civil administrative penalty regarding noncompliance with permissible sports wagering offerings by Betfair Interactive LLC, d/b/a FanDuel.
Director of Racing Dr. Alexandra Lightbown will follow with the presentation of an amendment of the 2024 Plainridge Racing Meeting License. There will also be a discussion of the Race Horse Development Fund benefits for drivers and jockeys.
The Sports Wagering Division will then present updates to the house rules of both DraftKings and Penn Sports Interactive. Commissioners will also hear DraftKings’ request to void wagers.
Afterwards, the Community Affairs Division will present quarterly reports for Plainridge Park Casino, MGM Springfield, and Encore Boston Harbor.
The Commission then anticipates moving into an executive session to review minutes from a previous executive session on November 21, 2024.
Commissioner Updates are expected to follow, rounding out the meeting.
