WHO:                    Members of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission including Chair Cathy Judd-Stein and Commissioners Gayle Cameron, Eileen O’Brien and Enrique Zuniga 

WHAT:                  The Massachusetts Gaming Commission will hold public meeting #352 on Thursday, August 19, 2021.

After an approval of minutes, Commissioner Cameron will provide a status report related to the International Association of Gaming Regulators (IAGR)’s Annual Conference and the International Masters of Gaming Law (IMGL)’s Annual Conference. General Counsel Todd Grossman will then request a vote related to the designation of appointing authority for purposes of conference-related matters.

Executive Director Karen Wells will provide an administrative update, which will include recognition of MGC staff members and on-site casino updates.

Director of Research and Responsible Gaming Mark Vander Linden, alongside Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center Executive Director Ben Hires and the Department of Public Health’s Director of Problem Gambling Services Victor Ortiz, will present on Problem Gambling Initiatives to Serve Asian American and Pacific Islander Communities.

Community Affairs Division Chief Joe Delaney will introduce representatives from MGM Springfield, who will present the property’s quarterly report. Chief Delaney will also lead a discussion related to the status of poker at MGM Springfield.

Director Vander Linden will lead a presentation related to PlayMyWay at MGM Springfield, and will acknowledge recent recipients of annual awards from the National Council on Problem Gambling.

Director of Investigations and Enforcement Bureau Loretta Lillios, alongside Gaming Agents Division Chief Bruce Band and Associate General Counsel Caitlin Monahan, will discuss the status of a request from Encore Boston Harbor to amend its floor plan (205 CMR 137.07(3)).

Licensing Division Chief Nakisha Skinner will then request that the Commission vote on a Service Exemption Request related to Wahlburgers at MGM Springfield.

Director of Racing Dr. Alex Lightbown will present on the following:

• Consideration of Payment of Race Horse Development Fund Monies to Drivers and Jockeys Organizations Under G.L. c.23K, §60(c)(iii) – VOTE
• Spirit of Massachusetts Horse Race Update
• Horse Racing Annual Report
