Meeting Notification: MGC to hold public meeting on April 9; Conference Call Available

WHO:                   Members of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission including Chair Cathy Judd-Stein and Commissioners Gayle Cameron, Eileen O’Brien, Bruce Stebbins, and Enrique Zuniga 

WHAT:                The Massachusetts Gaming Commission will hold public meeting #297 on Thursday, April 9, 2020.

After an approval of minutes, Interim Executive Director Karen Wells will provide an Administrative Update, which will include department reports and a Legislative Activities Report from Construction Project Oversight Manager Joe Delaney and Director of Workforce, Supplier and Diversity Development Jill Griffin.

Members from the MGC’s Finance Division and Commissioner Zuniga will provide updates on the MGC’s budget. A vote on this matter is anticipated.

Director of Research and Responsible Gaming Mark Vander Linden, alongside Dr. Mark Nichols from the SEIGMA Research Team, will present on the Springfield Lottery Impact Study.

Chief Enforcement Counsel and Investigations and Enforcement Bureau Deputy Director Loretta Lillios will request that the Commission vote on two qualifiers related to MGM Springfield and Encore Boston Harbor.

Interim General Counsel Todd Grossman will request that the Commission vote on the following:

  • Initial review for emergency adoption and commencement of promulgation process: 205 CMR 138.68: Expiration of Gaming-related Obligations Owed to Patrons; Payment to the Gaming Revenue Fund – addressing the calculation of 1-year time period – VOTE
