Meeting Notification: MGC to hold public meeting on Thursday, May 24th

Topics include MGM Springfield Quarterly Report and Liquor License Application, Economic Development Grants, MGC FY19 Budget, Regulations and Suffolk Downs

 WHO:                   Members of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission including Chairman Steve Crosby, Commissioner Gayle Cameron, Commissioner Eileen O’Brien, Commissioner Bruce Stebbins and Commissioner Enrique Zuniga  

 WHAT:                The Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) will hold its 243rd open public meeting on THURSDAY, May 24, 2018.

The public meeting will begin with an update from Executive Director Ed Bedrosian about regulatory preparations in advance of the MGM Springfield opening. Bedrosian will also provide an update about Steve Wynn’s qualifier status.

Representatives from MGM Springfield will present the Commission with a quarterly report. Also, the Commission will review MGM’s liquor license application.

Jill Griffin, MGC’s director of workforce, supplier and diversity development, will present economic access grants to BEST Hospitality Training Center and the Hispanic-American Institute. MGC Chief Finance and Accounting Officer Derek Lennon will present the FY19 draft budget. Also, the Legal Division will request a series of votes from the Commission on regulations regarding internal controls, gross gaming revenue and excluded persons.

Lastly, the commissioners are expected to vote on several matters related to Suffolk Downs.
