Meeting Notification: MGC to hold public meeting on Thursday, July 19th

Topics include MGM Springfield Opening Preparations and Gaming Regulations

WHO:                   Members of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission including Chairman Steve Crosby, Commissioner Gayle Cameron, and Commissioner Eileen O’Brien

WHAT:                The Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) will hold its 247th open public meeting on THURSDAY, July 19, 2018.

The meeting will begin with a briefing from Executive Director Ed Bedrosian about ongoing regulatory preparations for the opening of MGM Springfield. The Commission will then vote on quarterly local aid payments related to racing.

Ombudsman John Ziemba will lead a review of MGM’s outstanding conditions and commitments; the Commission is expected to vote on several related items including updated Section 61 requirements, final design approval and approval of the construction security mechanism.

Workforce, Supplier and Diversity Development Director Jill Griffin will facilitate the presentation of MGM’s workforce compliance report and review of MGM’s retail plan. During this discussion, the Commission will vote on MGM’s regional tourism and marketing plan.

The Legal Division will then present the Commission with a series of gaming regulations that will each require a Commission vote.
