WHAT: The Massachusetts Gaming Commission is hosting an educational forum to explore the topic of Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) and other future online gaming trends. The Commission has invited a number of industry experts and stakeholders to attend the forum and participate in a series of presentations and panel discussions focused on the current status of fantasy sports. Topics include but are not limited to:
- An overview of Fantasy Sports
- Industry Perspective on Operation of DFS: Business Model, Risk Model, Internal Controls and “Growing Pains”
- Identifying Emerging Public Policy Issues & Remedies: Player Protection, Technical Requirements, Responsible Gaming
- Existing Regulatory Frameworks: Regulatory philosophy, Licensure, Existing applicable frameworks
- Approaches to Regulation/Moving Forward: Universality of potential regulation, other online gaming trends, alternatives to government regulatory models
