The MGC’s Commissioner Eileen O’Brien will serve as a presenter during the 2024 National Council of Legislators from Gaming States’ (NCLGS) Summer Meeting on Thursday, July 18. Commissioner O’Brien is slated to appear at the conference – which runs from Wednesday, July 17 through Saturday, July 20 – for Thursday afternoon’s Responsible Gaming Committee: Effective Consumer Protection in a Virtual World.
“This session will explore how governments, regulators and the industry are adapting consumer protection methods for an increasingly online marketplace,” the conference’s online agenda reads.
Also serving on that committee alongside Commissioner O’Brien will be Josh Ercole, the Executive Director of the Council on Compulsive Gaming of PA, Inc.; Susan Hensel, the Co-Founder & Partner at Hensel Grad P.C.; and Laura McAllister Cox, a Chief Compliance Officer at Rush Street Interactive. The committee is slated to be co-chaired by Georgia State Representative Karen Bennett, Maryland State Delegate Pam Queen, and Oklahoma State Representative Steve Bashore.
The NCLGS is an organization comprised of state lawmakers concerned with the proper regulation of the gaming industry. Twice a year, the NCLGS conducts conferences to discuss issues surrounding gaming and provide information on “cutting edge gaming issues” that legislators need to know.
At the organization’s 2022 Summer Meeting in Boston, MGC Commissioner Brad Hill gave the opening address at the meeting’s welcome reception.
