Attention Small Business Owners: Don’t miss the chance to learn about new business opportunities!

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission Urges Small Business Owners to Register with MGM Springfield to Receive Bid Notices

A message from Commissioner Bruce Stebbins:

For a small business, finding the time to seek out new business may seem daunting, but the opportunities to become a supplier to MGM Springfield may take your business to a new level of success.  Recently Massachusetts Gaming Commission staff met with MGM Springfield purchasing executives to discuss how we might be able to offer assistance as they seek out potential business partners.  The message we heard was simple – “Register with us so our buyers can share bid notices with you.”  MGM Springfield is anxious to work with local companies and strongly encourages them to simply register with them through their website.

There is no fee, and the form is simple to complete.

In less than one year, MGM Springfield – the $950 million resort gaming complex in Springfield – will open its doors to Massachusetts residents and guests from across the region and the country.  The economic impact of new jobs and new tax revenues will soon be realized.  A key priority of the Expanded Gaming Act is to offer local Massachusetts businesses the chance to become a potential business partner to a company like MGM Springfield, who has significant buying power and are in need of high-quality goods and services.  The legislation also identified the need for opportunities to be offered to minority, women and veteran-owned businesses.

If you’re a small business owner and wondering about registering with the Massachusetts Gaming Commission before you can work with MGM, don’t worry.  You are not required to register with the commission until you have the chance to do business with MGM.  MGM will let you know when that can happen.

If you’re a small business owner and curious about how to grow your business and access financing to become a potential supplier, there are technical assistance and financial resources out there to assist you.  Many of these programs are already available in Massachusetts and can be found here.

Now is not the time to step back.  Step forward and learn about the opportunities that can move your business forward.  MGM Springfield’s opening is right around the corner, and Wynn Boston Harbor is scheduled to open in June 2019.
