Meeting Notification: MassGaming to hold public meeting, topics include master schedule, research and responsible gambling regulations

WHO: Members of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission including Chairman Steve Crosby, Commissioner Gayle Cameron, Commissioner James McHugh, Commissioner Bruce Stebbins and Commissioner Enrique Zuniga
WHAT: The Massachusetts Gaming Commission will hold an open public meeting on Thursday, March 6th. The meeting’s agenda will include an administrative overview of matters related to Commission finances and the master schedule for the upcoming resort-casino license awards. The Racing Division will address a variety of issues requiring commission votes such as the approval of 2012 unclaimed wagers and a proposed legislation update.
In observance of March as National Problem Gambling Awareness Month, the Commission will address a number of issues regarding research and responsible gambling. The Commission will vote on self-exclusion regulations and will also be briefed on a responsible gaming report and strategies from the Commission’s Director of Research and Problem Gambling, Mark Vander Linden. The Commission will also hear from several guest speakers on responsible gambling matters related to healthcare, advocacy and research.
Lastly, the Commission’s Information Technology Division will present commissioners with a first draft of regulations regarding slots standards and approval process.
