MassGaming to issue petition decisions re: region b category 1 surrounding communities and impacted live entertainment venues

WHO: Members of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission including Chairman Steve Crosby; Commissioner Gayle Cameron; Commissioner James McHugh, Commissioner Bruce Stebbins and Commissioner Enrique Zuniga, representatives from Region B (Western Massachusetts) communities petitioning for ‘Surrounding Community’ status, representatives from entertainment venues petitioning for ‘Impacted Live Entertainment Venue’ (ILEV) status and representatives from MGM Springfield
WHAT: The Massachusetts Gaming Commission will host an open meeting on Tuesday, February 18th. The public meeting will include decisions on the ‘Surrounding Community’ petitions for Region B (Western Mass) filed by the Town of Hampden, the Town of Longmeadow and the City of Northampton. The meeting will also include decisions on the ‘Impacted Live Entertainment Venue’ petitions filed on behalf the Majestic Theater in West Springfield and the Eastern States Exposition in West Springfield. This marks a crucial step towards the issuance of a resort-casino license in Region B.
