Meeting Notification: MGC to hold public meeting on January 23, 2025; Conference Call Available

WHO: Members of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, including Chair Jordan Maynard and Commissioners Paul Brodeur, Brad Hill, Eileen O’Brien, and Nakisha Skinner
WHAT: The Massachusetts Gaming Commission will hold public meeting #544 on Thursday, January 16, 2025.
Once the meeting is called to order, the Commission will review meeting minutes from several past open meetings on November 8, 2023, December 20, 2023, January 4, 2024, January 24, 2024, September 12, 2023, and December 16, 2024. Commissioners will then hear from Executive Director Dean Serpa who will open a discussion on the Senate Judiciary Committee Hearing on sports wagering.
The Racing Division will follow with a discussion regarding Michigan Gaming Control’s suspension of Twin Spires ADW as it pertains to Massachusetts. Raynham Park will also present a request for approval of Global Tote as their totalizer provider. The Racing Division will close out its portion of the meeting with a discussion on horse health at the Plainridge Park Casino Racecourse.
The IEB will follow with multiple noncompliance briefings concerning Fanatics and FanDuel.
Commissioners will then hear from the Legal Division, which will discuss and review both 205 CMR 243.02: Sports Wagering Equipment (Kiosks) and 205 CMR 257: Sports Wagering Data Privacy. Research and Responsible Gaming will then present the GameSense Quarterly Report.
The meeting will then shift to the Sports Wagering Division for several matters. These include an update to Penn Sports Interactive’s house rules, an event petition request for the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL), and more.
The Commission anticipates convening in an executive session to review FanDuel’s request to use an alternate Know Your Customer identity authentication method when establishing a sports wagering account.
Commissioner Updates are expected to follow, rounding out the meeting.
There is time reserved at the end of the meeting for any other business the Chair did not reasonably anticipate at the time of posting.
