Meeting Notification: MGC to hold public meeting on August 15, 2024; Conference Call Available

WHO:                    Members of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission including Interim Chair Jordan Maynard and Commissioners Brad Hill, Eileen O’Brien, and Nakisha Skinner

WHAT:                The Massachusetts Gaming Commission will hold public meeting #528 on Thursday, August 15, 2024.

Once the meeting is called to order, commissioners will consider meeting minutes from a series of Commission meetings held on September 7, 2023, and September 18, 2023. Following that, the Commission will receive an administrative update from Executive Director Dean Serpa, which will include a follow-up on wager limitations by the operator and a conversation on FY24 year-end financial gaming obligations. Commissioner Brad Hill will provide a legislative update afterward.

The Community Affairs Division will present quarterly reports for Plainridge Park Casino, MGM Springfield, and Encore Boston Harbor. They will then turn to questions surrounding the FY26 Community Mitigation fund policy.

The meeting will then move on to sports wagering, where the Commission will consider the possible removal of a league from the existing event catalog and will also hear a request for an amendment to Fanatics’ house rules.

Mark Vander Linden, Director of Research and Responsible Gaming, will then provide an update on the AI Working Group.

The Commission anticipates it will meet in executive session to discuss collective bargaining of the SEIU Local 888 Agreement. The Commission will then move into a separate executive session to review minutes from previous executive sessions.

Commissioner Updates are expected to follow, rounding out the meeting.

There is time reserved at the end of the meeting for any other business the Chair did not reasonably anticipate at the time of posting.
