MGC to hold open meeting to discuss the ‘Suitability Assessment Process’ for gaming applicants

WHAT: The Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) will host its bi-weekly open meeting on Thursday, June 27th. The commission is expected to review the Master Schedule/timeline to highlight upcoming milestones and deadlines. The Director of Racing will provide an administrative update and will brief the commission regarding a recent tax withholding issue. In addition, the Director of Investigations and Enforcement along with the commission’s gaming consultants will provide a detailed briefing to the commissioners regarding the near completion of the Phase 1 background investigations to determine a gaming applicant’s suitability. The commission is expected to have an in-depth discussion regarding the overall ‘Suitability Assessment Process’ as the commission prepares to determine suitability for slots applicants in mid-July 2013 and for resort-casino applicants at the end of August 2013.
