WHO:                     Members of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission including Chair Cathy Judd-Stein and Commissioners Brad Hill, Jordan Maynard, Eileen O’Brien, and Nakisha Skinner

WHAT:                The Massachusetts Gaming Commission will hold public meeting #469 on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.

After the meeting is called to order, Interim Executive Director Todd Grossman will outline the legal framework relative to the award of a sports wagering license.

That will be followed by a request for withdrawal of individual qualifier and entity qualifier, which will include a discussion of next steps for review of a Category 2 Sports Wagering Operator License.

Following that will be a presentation and analysis relevant to the review and evaluation of the application, which is comprised of two parts: an IEB report on the applicant’s preliminary suitability, and a preliminary financial suitability report.

A review and evaluation of the application is then set to follow, including, but not limited to, consideration of (1) experience and expertise related to Sports Wagering, (2) economic impact and other benefits to the Commonwealth if a license is awarded, (3) proposed measures related to responsible gaming, (4) an applicant’s willingness to foster racial, ethnic, and gender diversity, equity and inclusion, (5) technology intended to be used, (6) preliminary suitability of the applicant and qualifiers, and (7) other appropriate factors.

The Commission is then expected to meet in Executive Session ahead of Commissioner Updates, which are anticipated to round out the meeting.

There is also time allotted near the end of the meeting for any other business that the Chair did not reasonably anticipate at the time of posting.

The Commission reserves the right to vote on these or other matters during the meeting.
