Meeting Notification: MGC to hold public meeting on March 12; Live Stream available

WHO: Members of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission including Chair Cathy Judd-Stein and Commissioners Gayle Cameron, Eileen O’Brien, Bruce Stebbins, and Enrique Zuniga
WHAT: The Massachusetts Gaming Commission will hold public meeting #291 on Thursday, March 12, 2020.
PLEASE NOTE: As always, and for the public’s convenience, a live stream will be provided on MassGaming.com. Individuals are strongly encouraged to take advantage of remote access. External meeting participants will, for now, participate remotely via call-in. Also, the video will be uploaded to the meeting archive shortly after the meeting’s conclusion.
After approval of minutes, Interim Executive Director Karen Wells will provide a general administrative update, which will include an update on the Promotional Gaming Meter, and a vote on the MGC Employee and Gaming Enforcement Unit Casino Dining Policy. Interim Executive Wells will also request a Commission vote on the adoption of the Executive Branch Human Resources Division Coronavirus Advisory Policy.
Representatives from Plainridge Park Casino and Encore Boston Harbor, via call-in, will present each casino’s quarterly reports.
Director of Research and Responsible Gaming Mark Vander Linden, alongside Program Manager Teresa Fiore, will provide GameSense Update Reports for both Plainridge Park Casino and Encore Boston Harbor.
Dr. Alex Lightbown, the MGC’s Racing Division Director, will request that the Commission vote on the following:
- Plainridge Park Racecourse Request for Approval of Racing Officials and Key Operating Personnel – VOTE
- Plainridge Park Racecourse Request for Waiver of 205 CMR 3.12 (6) – Qualifying Race Requirement – VOTE
- Plainridge Park Casino request for Promotional Fund Reimbursement – Chad Bourque, Chief Financial Analyst; Steve O’Toole, Director of Racing, Plainridge Park Casino – VOTE
- Plainridge Park Racecourse Request for Promotional Fund – VOTE
- Standardbred Owners of Massachusetts (SOM) Recognition Request as Breeders’ Representative – VOTE
The votes will be followed by a Legislative Activities Report from Ombudsman Ziemba and Dr. Lightbown.
Loretta Lillios, Chief Enforcement Counsel and Deputy Director of the Investigations and Enforcement Bureau will ask that the Commission vote on a qualifier for MGM Springfield.
The Commission will then begin a discussion on Licensee Sexual Harassment Policies, and Commissioner Zuniga will provide an update on the search for a new Executive Director.
