As part of the effort to help offset impacts that may result from the development and operation of gaming facilities in the Commonwealth, the Massachusetts Legislature created the Community Mitigation Fund as part of the Expanded Gaming Act. After requesting and receiving thoughtful recommendations from the general public and from the gaming advisory committees created under the Act, the Commission approved Guidelines for the 2019 Community Mitigation Fund Program early in December. To learn more about the fund and this year’s Guidelines, please visit the Community Mitigation Fund page. Pursuant to the Act, applications for funds are annually due in the beginning of February [February 1, 2019].
