DEADLINE 4/19/16: Request for Public Comments on Mass Gaming & Entertainment, LLC resort-casino proposal

During the April 14, 2016 meeting of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, the Commission outlined the estimated schedule for deliberation of the application by Mass Gaming & Entertainment, LLC for a license to build a gaming establishment in Brockton, Massachusetts. The Commission anticipates that it will conclude its evaluation of this application for a gaming license in Region C during the last week of April, with such public deliberation beginning on April 26, 2016. Given the beginning of this final stage of the Commission’s evaluation, the Commission has established a deadline for the receipt of comments on the resort-casino proposal from Mass Gaming & Entertainment, LLC. Any comments must be received by 4:00pm on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 to be considered by the Commission during its evaluation. In addition to several public hearings that were held to receive public testimony, the Commission also received numerous written comments.
This marks the end of an ongoing request period which opened with the release of the RFA-2 application on September 30, 2015. The Commission held public input hearings in a proposed Surrounding Community (Holbrook) on January 28, 2016; as well as the proposed Host Community on March 1 and 28.
