UPDATE (2/1): Pursuant to previous postings on the Commission’s website, applications for the 2018 Community Mitigation Fund will be accepted until 5:00pm today (February 1, 2018). Any applicant that experiences any difficulty in posting an application through the COMMBUYS system should immediately contact Mary Thurlow at 617.979.8420 to notify us of the difficulty. Applications submitted to the Commission at mary.thurlow@state.ma.us by 5:00pm will be accepted.
As part of the effort to help offset impacts that may result from the development and operation of gaming facilities in the Commonwealth, the Massachusetts Legislature created the Community Mitigation Fund as part of the Expanded Gaming Act. After considering thoughtful recommendations from the general public and from gaming advisory committees created under the Act, the Commission approved Guidelines for the 2018 Community Mitigation Fund Program in December.
