What You Need to Know
- The Massachusetts Gaming Commission maintains a commitment to DIVERSITY in its core values.
- The AOC is charged by the Commission to monitor efforts of our gaming licensees to achieve diversity in the construction workforce and supplier base
- Casinos are required to regularly provide to the Commission detailed, statistical reports on the diversity of their workforce and vendor contracting.
Given the design and scope of the development of resort-casinos coming to the Commonwealth, MassGaming has created the Access and Opportunity Committee (AOC). The AOC is charged by the Commission to monitor efforts of our gaming licensees to achieve diversity in the construction workforce and supplier base and offer assistance to our licensees as they proceed with the approximate three-year construction of their resorts.
The AOC brings together state officials and community leaders, diversity advocates and our licensees – MGM Springfield and Wynn Boston Harbor – to help ensure that diversity goals are achieved through open, inclusive dialogue.
The AOC meets every month, alternating between Springfield and the Boston area.
