Request for Public Comment: Commission is seeking public comment about the potential impacts of the legalization of recreational marijuana on expanded gaming

The Commission requests comments from interested members of the public and its gaming licensees on the possible impact to gaming licensees and casino patrons of the recent legalization of recreational marijuana in the Commonwealth. While the referendum prohibited the use of recreational marijuana in public places and all gaming establishments are non-smoking by statute, the Commission is interested in any potential impact regarding employees in the workplace, use of recreational marijuana in non-public areas, and any impacts arising from patrons or employees bringing edible products containing marijuana into the gaming establishment, in particular, into hotel, retail or other non-gaming areas.  And please feel free to offer the Commission any other observations you may have.
Please email comments to mgccomments@state.ma.us with ‘legalization of recreational marijuana’ in the subject line or send by mail to the Commission’s office at 101 Federal Street, Boston, MA.  The Commission will accept comments until the close of business on January 2, 2017.
