Meeting Notification: MassGaming to hold public meeting on 3/20, Topics: MassGaming Policy Review, Racing Schedule, Casino Training School Regulations, Region C Schedule and Surrounding Community Designations

WHO:  Members of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission including Chairman Steve Crosby, Commissioner Gayle Cameron, Commissioner James McHugh, Commissioner Bruce Stebbins and Commissioner Enrique Zuniga

WHAT:     The Massachusetts Gaming Commission will hold an open public meeting on Thursday, March 20th.  The meeting’s agenda will include an administrative discussion on the ongoing review of commission policies and procedures. The Racing Division will address a variety of issues including emergency regulations and amendments to the Suffolk Downs and Penn National racing schedule for 2014.

To continue observance of March as National Problem Gambling Awareness Month, the Commission will receive an update on matters related to responsible gambling from the Mass Council on Compulsive Gambling’s Executive Director, Marlene Warner.

The commission is also expected to discuss the development of regulations pertaining to casino training schools. In addition, the commission will review public comments recently received in regards to the commercial licensing timeline and schedule for Region C (Southeastern Mass). Lastly, the commission will discuss outstanding surrounding community designations for Region A (Eastern Mass) gaming proposals.
