Meeting Notification: MassGaming to hold open public meeting on 6/20, Region A applicants to provide Commission with updates on transportation plans for resort-casino gaming proposals

WHO: Members of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission including Commissioner Gayle Cameron, Commissioner James McHugh, Commissioner Bruce Stebbins and Commissioner Enrique Zuniga and representatives from Mohegan Sun MA LLC and Wynn MA LLC
WHAT: In advance of the hearings in the proposed Host Communities for the resort-casino license in Region A (Eastern Mass.) scheduled for June 24 & June 25, the Massachusetts Gaming Commission has scheduled presentations by the Region A applicants on their transportation plans on Friday, June 20, 2014. The Region A applicants will describe the transportation plans included in their RFA-2 applications and provide updates that may be included in future Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act (MEPA) submissions. In addition to being a forum for the Commission and its consultants to ask questions about the in-depth presentations, the presentations will help the general public better understand the plans in advance of the scheduled Host Community hearings.
Each of Friday’s transportation plan presentations and question session is likely to last for approximately ninety minutes to two hours. By hosting such lengthy presentations before the host community hearings instead of during the host community hearings, the Commission hopes to make the host community hearings more efficient, especially given the number of persons likely to testify. In addition, the Commission will issue a ‘Request for Public Comment’ on the transportation presentations.
