Meeting Notification: MassGaming to hold open meeting to include public hearing regarding ‘suitability’ for resort-casino applicant

WHO:             Members of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission including Chairman Steve Crosby, Commissioner Gayle Cameron, Commissioner James McHugh, Commissioner Bruce Stebbins and Commissioner Enrique Zuniga

WHAT:          The Massachusetts Gaming Commission will hold its bi-weekly open meeting to include a public hearing to determine the ‘suitability’ of resort-casino gaming applicant, Mohegan Sun Massachusetts. It is anticipated that the commissioners will vote at this meeting on a determination of suitability for Mohegan Sun Massachusetts. A positive determination of suitability allows a gaming applicant to proceed with the submission of a Phase 2 (final) application. In addition, the Commission is expected to vote on matters related to the City of Boston’s host community referendum. Furthermore, the Commission will receive an update on efforts by the Director of Research and Problem Gambling, Mark Vander Linden, relating to mitigating problem gambling and an upcoming educational forum focused on responsible gaming. The Commission will also receive administrative updates from the Directors of Racing, Licensing and Workforce Development.
