Plainridge Park Casino opens Career Center

As the Director of Workforce Supplier and Diversity Development, I am pleased to note an exciting development pertaining to job creation and the Massachusetts’ expanded gaming industry. This week MassGaming licensee Penn National Gaming opened the Plainridge Park Casino Career Center and is now accepting employment applications. These opportunities are posted on the Plainridge Park Casino website and are the first wave of the 500 new permanent jobs that Penn National Gaming plans. MassGaming is working closely with Penn National to ensure that it reaches its stated goal of hiring 90% of that workforce from the local area.
The Plainridge Park Casino Career Center at 416 South Street in Plainville, Massachusetts offers potential employees the opportunity to visit with Career Center staff to learn about the expanded gaming industry, company, and jobs that range from finance and hospitality to maintenance and gaming. Literature describing several of the open positions is available. Penn National is accepting job applications at the Career Center as well through their website. In addition, computer terminals are set up at the Career Center for applicants to submit applications.
Although the hiring process for Plainridge Park Casino’s permanent jobs has just kicked off with the opening of their Career Center, Plainridge Park Casino is already employing over 400 construction workers, with an additional 600 construction jobs expected by the end of the year. Penn National Gaming reports to MassGaming that it has made significant progress towards their diversity goals of hiring and contracting with minority, women and veteran employees and suppliers during the design and construction period.
